It's not a complicated story. We're just a couple of guys from the Midwest who really like good coffee. A few years ago, we started buying and home roasting green coffee beans. A few months later, our coffee drinking friends took notice of what we were doing and were intrigued. After trying our fresh roasted beans, they couldn't get enough! Before we knew it, we were roasting more for our friends than we were for ourselves, and we drink a lot of coffee! It was at that point we decided there might be a future for us in the coffee business.

One of the first things we learned about roasting was that every coffee has its own roast level that perfectly expresses the characteristics and flavors that particular bean has to offer. We here at H.T. Brown coffee like to experiment with each batch of beans we get. We roast different batches of the same beans to different degrees of darkness in order to find the right roast level for that particular bean. Some beans taste better when roasted dark, while others lose flavor and brightness if roasted too dark and need a lighter touch. We keep detailed roasting logs and notes during this process. This provides us with not only an on-going reference guide to our work, it also enables us to achieve consistency with our roasts.

Brown Coffee are dedicated to searching the globe for the best beans we can find, roasting them to a level that brings out the best aspects of the coffee bean, and shipping them to you, the customer, immediately. We are also involved with sustainable coffee practices, environmental and social,   so the future of quality coffee will be preserved. The coffee growing regions of the world, and the people who grow the coffee deserve no less. We will also strive to provide you, the customer, with excellent customer service and information about our coffee.
